This Sealey 50-litre direct-drive air compressor kit is a robust workshop solution suitable for automotive, engineering, and industrial applications. With a powerful 2-horsepower motor, large tank capacity, and included accessory kit, this compressor provides the performance and versatility required in a professional garage or work environment.
At the heart of the air compressor is the direct drive pump and motor assembly. The pump head is directly coupled to the heavy-duty 2hp induction motor with precision alignment for smooth, efficient, and reliable operation. This avoids belt slippage and alignment issues associated with belt drive systems. The motor windings feature a copper construction for excellent heat dissipation and reduced operating temperatures, enabling extended duty cycles without overheating.
The pump cylinder uses a durable cast iron material and an aluminium alloy cylinder head. This combination provides excellent wear resistance for a long operational life. Air displacement is a substantial 6.8 cubic feet per minute or 193 litres/minute. The compressor delivers a free airflow of 4.6cfm at pressures up to 116psi, sufficient for most workshop tools and applications. For safety, an automatic pressure cut-out switch intervenes and shuts down the motor if the maximum pressure is exceeded.
